Fredricks Gallery presents Works by California artist David Doherty, the Artist’s View of Pacific Ocean Park.
In 1958 CBS television and Santa Anita Racetrack built an amusement park on a pier in Santa Monica that rivaled Dianeyland’s park in Anaheim.
To honor the CBS component of this project and to give recognition to Palm Springs Modernism Week, this installation will run from the beginning of the week of Palm Springs Film Festival through the end of Modernism week, January 7 through February 20, 2012.

I grow up in Santa Monica in the late 50s and early 60s lived up on 4th St. I remember POP with great fondness. We left CA in 1966, so I did have to watch it’s the slow destruction.
